Purpose of these Unit standard Based Course  

Facilitator (Unit Standard ID 117871) : – 1 Week  

This unit standard will provide recognition for those who facilitate or intend to facilitate learning using a variety of given methodologies. Formal recognition will enhance their employability and also provide a means to identify competent learning facilitators.  

Assessor (Unit Standard ID 115753): – 1 Week

This generic assessor course is for those who assess people for their achievement of learning outcomes in terms of specified criteria using pre-designed assessment instruments.  

Moderator (Unit Standard ID 115759): – 1 Week

This unit standard is for people who conduct internal or external moderation of outcomes-based assessments.

Facilitator

Facilitator

The qualifying learner will be able to:  

  • Plan and prepare for facilitation;
  • Facilitate learning; and
    • Moderate assessments in terms of the relevant outcome statements and quality assurance requirements;
    • Use the prescribed QA procedures in a fair, valid, reliable and practicable manner;
    • Demonstrate understanding of moderation within the context of an OBE assessment system;
    • Plan and prepare for moderation;
    • Conduct moderation;
    • Advise and support assessors;
    • Report, record aReview moderation systems and processes.Evaluate learning and facilitation. 

      Assessor

       

      The qualifying learner will be able to:

      • Carry out assessments in a fair, valid, reliable and practicable manner;
      • Demonstrate understanding of outcomes-based assessment;
      • Prepare for assessments;
      • Conduct assessments;
      • Provide feedback on assessments; and
      • Review assessments.

       

       

      Moderator

      The qualifying learner will be able to:

      • Moderate assessments in terms of the relevant outcome statements and quality assurance requirements;
      • Use the prescribed QA procedures in a fair, valid, reliable and practicable manner;
      • Demonstrate understanding of moderation within the context of an OBE assessment system;
      • Plan and prepare for moderation;
      • Conduct moderation;
      • Advise and support assessors;
      • Report, record and administer moderation; and
      • Review moderation systems and processes.

Facilitator

Individuals who facilitate at workplace or independent training providers.     

Assessor

Individuals who are responsible for assessing delegates’ achievements at workplace or independent training providers and/or assessment centres.     

Moderator

Individuals who are responsible for moderating the OBE assessment practices at workplace or independent training providers and/or assessment centres.

Facilitator

Candidate-facilitators need to be competent in the learning area in which training will be provided.   

Assessor

No previous assessment experience is necessary, although, candidate-assessors should have evaluative expertise within the area of learning in which they intend to assess.     

Moderator

Candidate-moderators should have previous assessment experience and recognition for the unit standard 115753 – “Conduct OBE Assessments” as well as evaluative expertise within the field in which they are moderating assessments. 

Upon Successful Completion of Uni Standard Based Course. ETDP will issue the successful learner a statement of results (SOR) and MUST Graduate will issue the attendance CERTIFICATE to the Learners.
